How to Care for Your Human Hair Wig
Pre-Wash Care
- Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to gently remove tangles, starting from the ends and working toward the roots to avoid damage. Avoid brushing.
Washing
- Do not soak or fully submerge your wig. Rinse under cool running water, allowing it to flow from the roots to the ends.
- Apply a small amount of color-treated shampoo to your hands and gently stroke it through the hair, moving from roots to ends.
- Rinse under cool water until it runs clear. Gently squeeze to remove excess water, but do not twist or wring the wig.
Conditioning
- Apply a small amount of color-treated conditioner from the mid-shaft to the ends, avoiding the roots to prevent shedding.
- Leave the conditioner on for 1-2 minutes (follow manufacturer's instructions). Do not exceed 3-5 minutes.
- Rinse with cool water until it runs clear, then gently press out excess water with a clean, dry towel. Do not twist or wring.
Drying and Styling
- Place the wet wig on a wig stand until fully dry. Finger styling is recommended.
- For Straightening: Take a 1-inch section from the roots and use a flat iron to straighten the hair from the root to the ends.
- For Curling: Wrap the hair around a curling iron, hold for 10 seconds, and release.
- Final Styling: You can use hair spray to set the style.
Tips & Recommendations
- Pre-wear: Always wash or rinse your wig and style it before wearing. Human hair wigs are not ready to wear directly out of the box.
- Water Temperature: Never rinse with hot water as it can damage the cap.
- Drying: Do not dry your wig on a mannequin head or solid form to avoid stretching the cap.
- Wearing: We recommend not sleeping, showering, or swimming while wearing the wig.
- Storage: Store your wig on a wig stand to prevent unwanted kinks or crimps.
- Delicate Lace: Handle the lace gently to avoid damage. Do not tug or pull.
- Wet Hair: Avoid brushing the hair when wet, as it can cause damage.
- Styling: Any cutting or chemical treatments (such as perming or coloring) should only be done by a professional stylist. It’s best to avoid bleaching or lifting the color—depositing color yields better results.
